Catoctin Mountain Recording (formerly Harvest Recording) was established in 1992 by musician/producer/engineer Doug Benson in Thurmont, Maryland. As Harvest Recording, the studio's output included over 200 independent releases and scores of live recordings, as well as extensive MIDI sequencing and professional arranging. After changing the studio’s name and location in 2004, Benson began to focus more on the recording of acoustic material, installing a 32-track Pro Tools system for in-house use. Live on-location recording still remains an important part of the offering as well, with digital ‘sweetening’ enhancing the finished product.
